In a conversation with a potential new business coaching client :
Her - "I've fired my previous coach, and I hear via trusted referrals that you're the right coach for me."
Me - "Thank you, that's great to hear. May I ask why you fired your coach?"
Her - "Well, his brief was to help me scale my business and improve profitability... and his advice was that I pay my employees less and give them fancy titles that'll make them happy."
Me - [ SPEECHLESS ]
I'm excited to start working with this client and show her how to create an exceptional employee experience that will definitely create the conditions for better scale and profitability.
What blows my mind though is that there is a 'professional' business coach out there dishing out such irresponsible advice. Accountability and impact should not be sidestepped so easily.
