And no, not just high level descriptors such as ‘good’, ‘bad’, ‘stressful’, ‘excited’ but rather the more meaningful specifics of the human moments that create our day.

This is how people are feeling, and it is not good! When we share this with leaders they tend to assume this is everyone else and not the people they lead. The ROI here is high, the Risk Of Ignorance!

During many years of working with organizations around the world we have noticed consistently that these five focus areas are constantly impacting each other and also reliant on each other. Under-performing leadership will find it extremely difficult to execute on even the most brilliant strategies. Ground-breaking innovation will often never be implemented in weak cultures. Our approach is to assist you to be able to create an extremely meaningful story that becomes the organisational DNA and the heartbeat of everyone involved. We then guide you in terms of how to lead this story, and to live it. Mindset and Method integrating across the five focus areas and having them support and build each other instead of being siloed and potentially diluting each other.
Leadership as a concept is often misunderstood in terms of what is actually required to ‘lead’ others. It is no longer about being recognized for the technical ability that most likely got you promoted to a leadership role, but rather about your mindset and behaviours with regards to activating the capability of those that you now lead. This is further complicated by the requirement to be a custodian of the organizational culture, and to consistently deliver the required business results in challenging environments. We thrive on helping leaders develop this next level thinking, being and doing.
Many people misinterpret innovation as being the first idea that comes up in response to a problem, and it gets left there. Innovation is so much more complex than just random creativity… it is about how we create environments that are safe for people to try new things, to express themselves, to have their ideas implemented, and to learn from their mistakes while trying to make things even better. We are energized by seeing our clients move from random creativity to innovation with intent.
Culture is a much spoken about often agonized about aspect of business and leadership. We say agonized about because it can be highly conceptual, complex to understand, and often seems like more work than it’s worth… almost a grudge spend. However, culture and the articulation of the organisational DNA is the backbone for how things happen in a business. It defines whether people are being switched on and grown, and whether scale and success is sustainable. We are lit up when assisting in the creating and sustaining of cultures that people can fall in love with!
We separate the employee experience from culture as a core focus area because it is hugely significant in it’s own regard and needs to be considered as such. We often see organisations and leaders spending massive amounts of money to obtain employee engagement statistics, but they don’t do the hard work to understand the actual touchpoints of human experience that are being affected. We are excited to introduce our EX Essentials Model for organisations to be able to deeply connect with these touchpoints that are switching their people on or off all the time. There are no neutral moments.
Ultimately strategy is the tactical mission that people are expected to constantly be bringing the best version of themselves to. They are rewarded and recognized for delivery on the plans that are laid out, but very often these deliverables are not clear or specific… very high level. People are also not given a meaningful enough connection to the strategy, or sufficient involvement/contribution in the crafting of the plan. So how then do they bring their best discretionary efforts to the delivery of the strategy? We are ignited by clarifying strategy with our clients and making them practical, tangible, and executable.
Brad is a great example of an excellent coach, his career and all his achievements in life make him the perfect mentor for aspiring businessmen and leaders. He has a good business sense and keen insight into the recipe for success. I would recommend him to anyone looking to develop themselves. Working with Brad has been a positive life changing experience for me and one that I would not be able to learn from any course or business degree. I experienced Brad's facilitation skills as well, which was more than memorable in a room of 80 plus people. He took the time to research and understand his audience and deliver a message that resonated with them and their environment. His concepts are fresh and exciting and challenge the conventional way of thinking and force you to question conservative business practice. I have a certain amount of scepticism with regards to coaching, but in the right circumstances and if the match is right, then it is a very valuable tool, which this time round has certainly proven to be the case for me. Quirk contracted Brad as a facilitator on our Future Giants leadership programme to guide our managers through a subject that they were fairly intimidated by – Strategy & Innovation. People are at the heart of a business. They are a significant investment, and to see the optimal return on any investment we know for sure that we need to nurture that investment properly. Not at the expense of business results, but rather with the possibility of even better results!
